Students chose a central idea from the Organizing theme, “Sharing the Planet” for this year’s exhibition which culminated this week with the students presenting their findings over two and a half days to members of the NIST community. Groups shared how they had taken action to protect the environment, and encouraged visitors to do likewise. For example Pim, Pam and Jean from 6JS presented Khun Meechai with funds they had raised. The Year 6 Exhibition is a culmination of the Primary Years Programme. It is a requirement in PYP schools that Year 6 students undertake an in-depth collaborative inquiry to synthesize the primary years learning and to share the learning with the community in the form of an Exhibition. The Exhibition which spans over ten weeks demonstrates the student’s ability to be independent and responsible learners and provides an authentic assessment of their learning. |
