DP - IB Diploma Programme

Upper Secondary Curriculum (Years 12-13)

dpThe International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a very effective preparation for education at universities and colleges throughout the world. It encompasses the in-depth study of six subjects (three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level) from a variety of disciplines; a Theory of Knowledge course; a research-based Extended Essay; and participation in Creativity, Action and Service activities. Student attainment within the Diploma Programme is ultimately measured by means of coursework submitted to the IB and written examinations in the second year of the course.

The progress of students in all year levels is internally assessed against published criteria. Parents are kept informed of progress through reports, parent/teacher conferences and information evenings.

Additional important features of the Secondary School are its Student Support Services; its extensive sports and after-school activities programme (NIST is an active member of SEASAC - the South East Asia Sports and Activities Conference and BISAC - Bangkok International Schools Activities Conference); and a varied Performing and Visual Arts programme.
