Admissions Procedures
NIST invites students from all over the world to apply to our school. Applications are accepted for review anytime during the year. An application can be made when visiting the school. NIST encourages parents to visit our school by arranging to meet with our Admissions Manager. Application procedure for our Early Years, Primary Years and Secondary Years programmes may vary. STEP 2- SUBMIT AN APPLICATIONAll Candidates must submit our official application form. These can be collected from the Admissions Office (02-6512065 Ext. 103), during normal office hours, or can be posted to the potential applicant. The form must be supplemented with the following documentation:
All prospective students must complete a full application form complete with the above documentation, before the Admissions Committee is able to review the application STEP 3- APPLICATION REVIEW BY ADMISSIONS COMMITTEEOur admissions committee will review the application in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria. Factors taken into account include:
The school reserves the right not to accept an application if the student is unlikely to be accepted to NIST. In other cases, the child may be invited for interview and assessment in order to help to determine the child’s educational ability and possible needs for English as a Second Language assistance or other specialized help. It is essential to submit by the testing date copies of the child’s previous school records (certified in English and with English translations if not already in English), copies of his or her passport, and photos. STEP 4- APPROVAL FROM ADMISSIONS COMMITTEEAfter reviewing a candidate’s records and application and taking into account the above criteria, the Admissions Committee may then grant approval for an Evaluation Assessment. This process can take from one week upwards depending on various factors. All candidates must wait for approval from the Committee before an assessment can be scheduled. STEP 5- EVALUATION ASSESSMENTAfter completing the above steps, candidates may be invited to sit an evaluation assessment. All assessments take place at the New International School of Thailand. Candidates must pay testing fee of Bt 2,500 which is non-refundable, regardless of entry to the school. After reviewing the assessment results and school records, the school will make a decision as to whether or not the child may register. Please note that the evaluation assessment material is private and is considered to be the property of the school; parents will not be entitled to the original or a copy. STEP 6- REGISTRATIONFamilies will be notified as soon as possible of admissions decisions and it is after this notification that actual registration may take place. Once a place has been offered, the family have a limited period, specified by the school, in which to accept it. If the place is accepted families must supply the following:
