NISTAA Class of 1999 Ten Year and All Class Reunion
On Saturday, July 18, 2009, NISTAA hosted a reunion at The
Campus, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel to celebrate the ten year
anniversary for the Class of 1999. The
evening was filled with a fantastic spirit amongst all those
who attended. |

IB Art Exhibition 2009
A lovely cocktail party, in honour of the IB Art Exhibition
Opening, was held on April 23, 2009, in the NIST Atrium.
There were more people than expected, as the Atrium filled
up with a public audience. The graduating class of 2009 NIST
IB Art students were very pleased to discuss and present all
of their art works to the visitors. |

Rev Jesse Jackson returns to NIST
The Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr, Civil Rights leader and
activist and President and Founder of the Rainbow/PUSH
Coalition, returned to NIST once again to give his speech on
Friday, April 24, 2009, as part of the International Peace
Foundation's "Bridges-Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace"
series programme. |

First Golf Tournament
NIST hosted the first golf
tournament on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Amata
Spring Country Club, Chonburi. All of the golfers and
participants had an enjoyable day. |

International Day
NIST celebrated its annual International Day festival on
Saturday, February 21, 2009. The day began with a country
parade starting in the parking lot and ending on the stage
in the Main Field. There was plenty of variety of
entertainment, food and stalls and the country booths were
wonderful. |

NISTAA London Reunion - the first chapter abroad
On Saturday, February 7, 2009, Adrian Watts, NIST Deputy
Head, hosted a reunion for alumni while he was in London for
the recruitment fair. The function marked NIST first chapter
abroad. There were over thirty past staffs and alumni
attending the event. |

Nobel Laureate Visits NIST
NIST Year 12 and 13 students were given an opportunity that
few other students in Thailand, or perhaps the world,
receive. On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, His Excellency
Professor Jose Ramos-Horta, President of Timor-Leste and
Nobel Laureate for Peace in 1996 visited NIST, as part of the
“Bridges” series of lectures. |

The Major Minors Choir at Samitivej Hospital
On the morning of November 11, 2008, the NIST Major Minors
Choir sang Christmas carols at Samitivej hospital to the
delight of the patients there. |

NIST Celebrates Elementary Swim Team Achievements In
the last Elementary School assembly of the year, the
Elementary school recognized the 48-strong Falcon swim team
and their recent achievements at the Shrewsbury Swim Relays
held on November 21, 2008. Competing against other
major international schools, the Falcons took the overall
team trophy and the Boys Under- 9 Team trophy.

Artist Visits NIST Local resident Elsie Evans
visited NIST on December 4, 2008. She set up a
make-shift studio in our Creative Arts Building Atrium,
displaying a few of her paintings and holding informal talks
with our art students, parents, and staff. |

Parade 2008 The Elementary School celebrated Book
Week from November 24 - 28, 2008. Following the theme
Reading Rainforests: Go Wild for Books, the week was
filled with various activities culminating with a parade on
the last day! |

• Loy
Kratong 2008 NIST celebrated one of the most beautiful of
Thai festivals, Loy Kratong, on November 11 with music and
dancing from students and school staff. |

Year
6 Camp 2008 Year 6 students recently traveled to
Kanchanaburi on November 18 returning to NIST on November
21, 2008. The students stayed at Pueng-waan Resort
where they took part in many activities including trekking,
mountain biking, swimming, rock climbing and camping. |

Makes a Stand NIST marked World Poverty Day on Friday, October 17th. The whole school day was dedicated to
action in order to empower students to help those who are
less well off and to teach that with individual action,
however big or small, each student can make a difference. |
