NIST Closure Information

As a precaution, with possible major traffic congestion, NIST will operate a half day only on Friday, 12th March, and will be fully closed on Monday, 15th March.  Lessons will finish on Friday at 10:40 a.m. Parents may collect students from 10:40a.m. onwards. Lunch service will be offered from 10:40a.m. until 11:30a.m. The Montri bus service will leave to take students home at 11:30 a.m. However, on Monday, 15th March, all onsite services will be closed.

Expectations will be communicated by teachers to parents/students via email and the portal. Students will be encouraged to undertake work on the portal set by their teachers.

Lessons at NIST  will resume on Tuesday, 16th March, at the normal time.

This weekend (12th, 13th and 14th March) NIST was to be involved in a number of events. These include:

  • BISAC Badminton and Softball competitions at NIST and RIS on the 13th and 14th (CANCELLED)

  • BISAC U15 open Tennis Singles at BPS on the 13th March 2010. (CANCELLED)

  • Student Emergency Response Course (CANCELLED)

  • Touch Rugby (CANCELLED)

  • The Shakespeare Festival (CANCELLED)

  • All other Falcon training sessions (including gymnastics) (CANCELLED)

If you are involved in non-NIST events such "Can You Kick It" and "Fusion Drama Academy", please check with the provider for up to date information.

Congratulations to our NIST Falcon athletes for their tremendous sport performances at last weekend’s SEASAC tournaments in Bangkok and Singapore. Our students were great ambassadors for the school both on and off the court/field of play. These results are a credit to our dedicated Falcon coaches who prepared our teams in an exemplary manner. Thanks to all the parents and supporters who travelled to Singapore and in Bangkok to lend their support to our teams!

Last week our BISAC Boys U15 Soccer Team played their reaaranged BISAC tournament. Our boys played fantastic and beat RIS in the final to become BISAC Soccer U15 Boys Champions 2010.

Trashion ShowTues 8th & Wed 9th June
    NIST Fashion Show 2010  01/02/10

This year the fashion will take place on the 1st and 2nd of June and the theme is ...fashion from recycled materials. Here are examples of some inspiring pieces of fashion created by using recycled old materials:
 
 

The basic idea of trashion show is that the participating designers have to make their clothes out of 80% recycled materials. This could mean that you could use old fabric or anything that has been used before. The money that is raised from the ticket sales for the trashion show will go to Habitat For Humanity which will support their goal.

 
The designers that will participate could work individually or in smalll groups. We are hoping to have ten different kinds of collections made by NIST students which will be presented in the fashion show. We look forward to your participation in the fashion show and making this event a big success.

NIST BISAC U19 Tennis & Basketball Champions 18/01/10

Well done to our NIST students on another set of strong sports results. Our U19 boys tennis, boys and girls basketball all won last weekend’s (Jan 16th) BISAC U19 tournaments. Our athletes played to a high skill level and matched this with great team spirit. Many thanks to the coaches and supporters !!
