The NIST 4th Family Day Picnic organised by the Thai CC club: a fun and successful day for great causes
On Saturday 12 March, the NIST community enjoyed a wonderful and fun day organised by the Thai CC Club, the NIST 4th Family Day Picnic. This annual event promotes goodwill and brings the NIST community closer, while also raising funds to support various causes. In its fourth year, the event has become even more popular than in past years, with more activities and games in which to participate.
All 800 tickets were sold out, demonstrating how much the NIST community enjoyed the excellent food, great performances games, as well as the company of great friends. The event featured various activities ranging from concerts and dances by students and parents to raffle prizes, food stalls, and more than 10 game booths. Additional activities included two big jumping castles, a fingernails painting booth, and a cake decoration booth, just to name a few. It is obvious that there was something for everyone young or old to enjoy. Many thanks to the generous sponsors for the delicious food and prizes available at the event.
This year, through organizing the Family Day Picnic and Choco-lotto in November 2010, the Thai CC Club successfully raised enough money to support the following three causes:
• Contributions to a fund for the installation of shades and fans by the school pitch;
• Donations to the Japanese tsunami relief fund through Mrs. Chie Curotta, a NIST Japanese-Parent Group representative; and
• Donations to the New Zealand earthquake relief fund through Mr. Paul Hamlyn, a NIST New Zealand Parents/Teachers representative.
The NIST 4th Family Day Picnic was truly a fantastic event and a successful community effort for great causes! It brought together NIST families in a special way and helped ignite the community spirit. Thank you to the Thai CC Club for the kind effort and hard work in making this event possible.
