Henry Seyi Rhodes, Award-Winning
Reporter, Talks to NIST students
During the week of 15-19
November, 2010, Henry Seyi Rhodes, a 31-year-old
London born reporter of UK Channel Four’s
“Unreported World” series, flew straight to Bangkok
upon the school’s invitation, to join NIST students
in various Humanities Classes. On 18 November, he
gave an inspiring presentation to NIST Year 11 and
12 students on the topic of “How do you think your
work has made a difference to the world? What action
can we take?”
As a journalist, Seyi documents various humanitarian
issues including slavery, witchcraft and
religious/homophobic violence. Seyi delivered a
memorable presentation enriched by his great sense
of humour and honest viewpoint. He advised NIST
students to be proactive and appreciate the
connections and network of friends around them. He
recalled that some of his documentaries were made
possible because of simple phone calls to old
acquaintances who he had briefly met.
