School GovernanceNIST is governed by a Council of Trustees of the Foundation for International Education (FIE). The FIE consists of at least 18, and no more than 23 voting members, of whom the majority must be parents or guardians of a child or children at the School. The FIE meets at least twice a year. It appoints an Executive Board (known as the School Board) to oversee the School on its behalf. The School Board consists of eight voting members (the Representative of the School License Holder, the School Manager, the School Director, a Representative of Teachers, a Representative of Parents, and three qualified persons) elected by the FIE. The role of the School Board is to set and review policies and ensure that these policies are implemented. The Administration of the School is responsible for implementing these policies.
