NIST International School is honoured to have received the Strategic Plan Award at the ASEAN School Awards 2026, recognising the school’s community-driven and future-focused approach to learning, wellbeing, and strategic growth.
Organised by 21st Century Learning, the ASEAN School Awards celebrate schools and educational organisations demonstrating innovation, impact, and meaningful contributions to education across the region.
The Strategic Plan category recognises schools with a community-led strategic plan that guides and strengthens the school’s long-term development. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that NIST’s strategic plan was collaboratively shaped by students, staff, parents, alumni, Foundation, and Executive Board members. Developed through extensive workshops, surveys, focus groups, and community discussions, the plan reflects the shared aspirations of a diverse international school community committed to continuous growth and purposeful learning.
At the centre of the strategic plan are five interconnected aims focused on learning, professional culture, learning environments, systems, and belonging. Together, these aims guide the school’s long-term development while ensuring students remain at the heart of every decision.
The recognition also reflects the work already underway across the campus and the wider community. Recent developments, including the opening of the Pavilion Building and new Elementary Buildings, have expanded professional learning opportunities for educators, strengthened safeguarding systems, and continued the school's focus on wellbeing and belonging, all part of the school’s broader vision for the future.
As Thailand’s first full IB World School in Bangkok, NIST continues to invest in learning environments, professional growth, and community partnerships that prepare students to thrive in a rapidly changing world while remaining grounded in compassion, intercultural understanding, and service.
