About Thailand

Welcome to the Land of Smiles

Thailand is a diverse country with a dynamic culture that matches its sunny reputation. Known worldwide for its rich food, exotic locales and welcoming people, Thailand continues to spark the imagination of travelers and expatriates around the world. Though often thought of as a tourist destination, many expatriates make it their home, and due to the country’s central position in Southeast Asia it serves as a major transport and commerce hub for the region. This means many major embassies, non-governmental organizations and international companies have chosen Thailand as a base of operations, and it’s very common to encounter people from all over the world while walking the streets of Bangkok, Chiang Mai or other cities.

Adjusting to life here can create unique challenges, and it helps to learn more about Thai culture, weather, food and politics beforehand to ease the transition. As you begin to prepare for your move, additional resources are available on this site to support you.
