Professional Learning
We are a community of lifelong learners who are committed to growth and development. NIST provides a robust professional learning programme for every teacher, including:
- an individual professional learning budget
- school-direction professional learning
- community-driven learning (e.g. teachers teaching teachers, book clubs).
NIST offers four professional development days each academic year, when staff come together to discuss and focus on key priorities. Earmarked as “non-student days”, these days are an opportunity to learn and to work collaboratively with peers.
Schrole is the primary hiring platform used by NIST for its recruitment processes.
Professional Learning at NIST starts in our hallways. We are surrounded by a richness of experience, resources, perspectives and philosophy that allow us to constantly reflect on and adapt our practices. Opportunities for individual professional learning are encouraged.
