Technical Qualifications

  • Familiarity with recruitment and human resource management software
  • Strong computer skills, including database management, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Suite

Education

  • Degree in human resource management/development or a closely related field; advanced qualification is preferable
  • Experience in a human resources role in a school setting is highly desirable

Other Qualifications

  • Fluency or near fluency in English
  • Deep understanding of Thai legal matters, work regulations and standards
  • Analytical thinker with solid understanding of human resource issues
  • High degree of communication skills in all forms
  • People-oriented professional with integrity, empathy and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

Coordinate all key areas related to recruitment, employment contracts, records, compensation and benefits, and welfare in line with the school’s strategic plan

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies that support the school’s short-term and longterm goals
  • Oversee recruitment of support staff and contract renewals to fulfill personnel needs
  • Assist the NIST Leadership Team (NLT) in the administrative process of faculty recruitment and contract renewals
  • Add and update personnel records on the school database
  • Ensure that all employment-related matters adhere to relevant legal requirements at all times
  • Ensure that all full-time, part-time and contracted support staff meet their contractual obligations and duties in line with school policies and procedures
    • Liaise with senior leaders and management in the review and revision of job descriptions and contractual obligations
    • Maintain attendance and leave request records for all faculty and support staff
  • Oversee the school payroll and departmental budget
    • Process and report tax, pension, provident fund, social security and any other deductions according to legal requirements
    • Report key metrics to the NLT as requested
  • Manage any labor disputes that arise within the school
  • Negotiate with providers to ensure that all insurance—including group personal accident for students, public liability, money, workmen compensation, life and health—adheres to the school’s requirements
    • Assist in processing insurance claims as required
    • Arrange annual health check benefits for both faculty and staff

Support a culture of professional growth and excellence

  • Maintain an effective system of appraisal aligned to the school’s values for all support staff in conjunction with other senior leaders
  • Ensure that appraisals of all support staff are completed in a thorough and timely manner
  • Identify and promote role-appropriate opportunities to further enhance the professional growth of support staff
  • Plan faculty and staff activities and welfare, including the annual staff party, staff trips, gifts, scholarships for children of support staff, long service awards, etc.
  • Work with other school leaders in developing a culture of collaborative professionalism that supports the NIST values

Contribute to all child safeguarding efforts within the school

  • Act as the Thai Child Safeguarding Lead within the NIST Child Safeguarding Team
  • Ensure that proper background checks—including criminal records and both written and verbal references—are conducted as a standard part of all interviews
  • Translate and update the Thai version of the NIST Child Safeguarding Policies Handbook
  • Conduct annual child safeguarding training sessions for all support staff

Coordinate with board members and senior leaders in advancing the school’s mission and vision

  • Participate in HR Committee meetings of the NIST Executive School Board
  • Provide regular staffing and personnel updates to the Head of School
  • Review human resource policies on a regular basis and provide recommendations to the Head of School
  • Complete any additional assignments as designated by the Head of School
