The Full IB Continuum: A Coherent Learning Journey

Thailand’s First Full IB World School

The International Baccalaureate (IB)

NIST provides a consistent, high quality International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum for students aged 3 to 19. This connected approach supports smooth transitions between learning stages, with the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP) aligned to support the progressive development of knowledge, skills, understanding, and the NIST Attributes that help students flourish in school and beyond.

Elementary

Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Early Years - Year 1

Our purpose built Early Years Centre introduces children to inquiry based learning through a play centred approach informed by the IB Primary Years Programme. Students develop confidence, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing while building strong foundations for future learning. Through exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships, children develop curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Years 2 - 6

As an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) school in Bangkok, NIST develops independent learners through concept-based inquiry across six transdisciplinary themes. Students grow as critical thinkers and effective communicators, fostering the conditions for thriving as responsible global citizens. The culmination of the PYP Programme is the PYP Exhibition (PYPx), a student-led inquiry using in-depth research that leads to meaningful action.

Secondary

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) connects academic learning with real-world context. Students engage in interdisciplinary learning while developing critical, creative, and reflective thinking skills that support a smooth transition into the Diploma Programme. The culmination of the MYP is the Personal Project, an independent inquiry through which students explore a personal interest and demonstrate their learning.

Diploma Programme (DP)

The IB Diploma Programme (Years 12–13) is recognised globally for its academic rigour and preparation for higher education. At NIST, students may pursue the full IB Diploma or selected IB courses, supported by personalised academic and university guidance. A distinctive feature of the Diploma Programme is its core, which includes the Extended Essay (EE), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
